Working At Heights (WAH) Certification
Fall Arrest Training for Canada and the United States.
For Aerial Work Platforms: Covers Theory and Practical Evaluation
fall arrest training compliance

**Working At Heights (WAH)** training is legally mandatory for any worker using **fall protection systems** or working at elevated levels where a fall hazard exists. In Ontario, this certification requires both a comprehensive **theory module** and a verified **hands-on practical assessment**.
Why You Need Our Certification:
- **CCHOS & OSHA Recognition:** Our certification meets the standards set by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) and the Ministry of Labour (MOL).
- **Applicable Equipment:** Covers fall protection when working on aerial work platforms, scissor lifts,
- **Auditable Records:** We provide records for both the online exam and the in-class sessions.
WAH Training Structure
Part 1: Foundational Theory (Online or Classroom)
Covers legislation, hazard recognition, warning methods, harness inspection and more The fall arrest training can be completed through our **online learning portal**
Part 2: Practical Competency (Onsite Required)
A certified instructor must provide a hands-on assessment of anchor points, harness inspection/donning, to be properly certified to work on Aerial Platforms.
Suggested Participants & Online/Onsite Model
- **Suggested Participants:** Anyone **working at heights** on a **Scissor Lift / Aerial Platform**.
- **Online Completion Time:** Approximately 45 minutes of self-paced learning.
- **WAH Certificate:** Trainees receive a **certification card** upon successful completion (90% passing grade).
- **Practical Training:** A mandatory **hands-on evaluation** must be completed by your certified person onsite after the online test. Photos of correct harness usage must be emailed for verification.
Core Modules: Fall Protection System Expertise
Harness & Equipment Inspection
Learn to identify defects, understand wear limits, and properly fit full-body harnesses, lanyards, and lifelines (PFAS). This hands-on skill is critical for daily pre-use checks.
Fall Dynamics & Clearance
Calculate required fall clearances, analyze swing hazards, and understand the forces involved in a fall. Ensures proper placement of anchor points at your facility.
Anchor Points & Rigging
Identify and select appropriate anchor points (minimum 5,000 lbs.) and understand safe rigging techniques for aerial lifts.
Working At Heights For Aerial Work Platforms
**Fall arrest training certification** for **working at heights** on **Scissor Lifts** can be completed **through our online safety training or at your workplace**, valid for **Canada and the United States**. Our program meets both **OSHA training** and the **Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS)** requirements.
Employers in **Canada and the United States** must provide **fall protection training** to workers who are exposed to the risk of falling. The **fall arrest certification** will instruct trainees on how to properly don their **fall protection equipment**, and how to properly store the harness and keep it in good condition. **Lucid Training's** goal is to provide your trainees proper **certification**, so that they know the rules and regulations when working on elevated platforms. This makes for a safer workplace, helps avoid accidents, and supports a strong system for **fall protection**.
Defining **Fall Arrest Systems**: **Fall arrest systems** are vital for keeping people safe while they **work at heights**. This is crucial when using an **aerial work platform** or **Scissor Lift**. These systems prevent serious injuries by catching a person before they fall too far. This protection system normally includes a full-body harness, a lanyard, and a secure **anchorage point** for connection. It is essential for anyone working in high places to know how these systems work and what parts are involved, a core focus of our **worksite safety** classes.
An effective **fall arrest system** is designed with several key components: **anchorage points**, **harnesses**, and the **connectors** such as lanyards. **Anchorage points** are necessary to provide a secure place to attach the system. **Harnesses** need to fit well to offer the best **fall protection**. **Connectors** should be strong and reliable. Knowing how to inspect and use these parts correctly ensures proper **fall protection** for workers in many different elevated situations.
