The stamping press operator safety course is designed to provide the necessary  knowledge to the trainee, so that he/she can operate the equipment in a safe and proper manner while meeting the safety requirements. This course will also give your trainees the necessary tools that will help reduce accidents and damage to tooling and machinery.

Operator Overview

• Review of the parts of the press (hydraulic press and mechanical presses)
• Functions of press component parts
• The dangers of a incorrect shut height adjustment and pitfalls
• Pre shift inspections of the machine.
• Importance of lockout procedures and when required
  
• Use of blocking devices
  
• Safe clamping methods
• Checking safety devices
  
• Adjusting the air-counterbalance system
• Types of guards and guarding devices
  
• Entrapment rescue requirements for non members of the rescue team
  
• Understanding the legal requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  
• Key points of the Canadian Standards Association Code for Power Press Operation: Health, Safety, and Guarding Requirements

Stamping press operators  power press operators, die setters, supervisors, group leaders, and health & safety committee members.

Approximately hour and a half. This will depend on the person
