Training Program Objectives:
To understand the main requirements of CSA Z142-10, and the changes made from the previous Standard.

Program Content:

  • Parts and function of the conventional mechanical press, direct drive  (servo) press, hydraulic press and pneumatic press
  • Responsibilities of employers
  • Press initiation circuits and control devices
  • Specific press component parts for safe operation
  • Maintenance requirements for hydraulic nuts on tie rods
  • Safeguarding requirements including laser actuated active opto-electronic protective devices
  • Safety distances
  • Training requirements
  • Energy isolation including ram blocks and locks
  • Requirements of an emergency plan (entrapment rescue)
  • Proper use of dies

Suggested Participants:
Managers, supervisors, group leaders, safety professionals, engineers, and health & safety committee members.

Program Duration:
