Training Program Objectives:
To understand the main requirements of CSA Z142-10, and the changes
made from the previous Standard.

Program Content:
- Parts and function of the conventional mechanical press, direct drive
(servo) press, hydraulic press and pneumatic press
- Responsibilities of employers
- Press initiation circuits and control devices
- Specific press component parts for safe operation
- Maintenance requirements for hydraulic nuts on tie rods
- Safeguarding requirements including laser actuated active opto-electronic protective devices
- Safety distances
- Training requirements
- Energy isolation including ram blocks and locks
- Requirements of an emergency plan (entrapment rescue)
- Proper use of dies

Suggested Participants:
Managers, supervisors, group leaders, safety professionals, engineers, and health & safety committee members.

Program Duration:
